Maybe you aren't a parent, but I bet you still need to cultivate some other humans being their best self. And we ALL need to parent ourselves from time to time.
This episode features my kids' (raw and unscripted) telling their stories about how being independent, thinking critically and following your passions is working out for them. It's how I know the stuff I coach on really works. You might think, what's a kid gonna teach me? Well, you can expect to learn:
How to overcome your fears and just do the thing
Why staying in your comfort zone won't ever really make you comfortable
How to look at your life longitudinally and see how all of your interests really do converge to a single why aka your purpose
The importance of experimenting, even if you think you've already solved the problem

Thursday May 06, 2021
The struggle is real. But it's also unnecessary. Today, we look at five radical changes you need to make right now to get yourself out of the hard times and into a fulfilling, impactful career and balance life.
I am for real here- so many things you are probably doing unconsciously, that everyone around you probably is doing need to stop. Let's find a different way with these five shifts:
Stop expecting your boss to be a psychic
Work smart not hard
Stop going negative- be proactive and fill the gaps between where you are and where you want to be
Act like a visionary. Educate your clients, your community. Don’t just provide service or you are not any more valuable than a developer or a contractor.
Get resourced

Recover from Perfectionism
Monday May 03, 2021
Monday May 03, 2021
As a recovering perfectionist, I know all about that little voice inside your head telling you you're not good enough. But you know what's really not good enough? The way you hold yourself back when you listen to that voice.
Perfectionism is insidious and is goes hand in hand with people pleasing. If we can;t win, we don't want to play, but if we don't play we will never win. Yeah- time to escape from all that circular thinking as we explore:
How perfectionism drains your energy
What's different about pursuing perfection (i.e. continuous improvement) and perfectionism.
Ways that the need to be perfect keeps you playing small and in constant need of validation from others
Why perfectionism makes you self-focused instead of process focused and leads to constant shame abut what you didn't do, instead of celebrating what you did.

Earth Day 2021: The Importance of Equity
Thursday Apr 22, 2021
Thursday Apr 22, 2021
The theme for Earth Day 2021 is Restore our Earth. I explore how that restoration is linked to being a conscious consumer who supports equitable global economies.
Most of us go right to the idea of polluting less and saving energy at the thought of Earth Day. But that kind of oversimplification doesn't lead to the kind of meaningful changes our planet needs right now. Join me as I outline some ideas for being a more conscious consumer who wants the planet and all its people to thrive.
Be aware of the end to end supply chain- not just the policies of the company selling the final product
Buy local, buy direct as much as possible
Use less by purchasing higher quality items and maintaining them
Make more informed travel and recreation choices
Support a circular, regenerative economy
Support decentralized and open access systems that empower people

How to have Hard Talks with Clients or Coworkers
Monday Apr 19, 2021
Monday Apr 19, 2021
Ugh...there is a huge problem with someone's performance or behavior and it just can't be swept under the rug.
Rather than allowing anger and resentment to build, it's important to face these kinds of issues head on. However, you don't want to go charging in full of righteousness. Instead, I have great (and hard won) advice on how to prepare, handle the talk and then effectively follow up for positive change. Learn more about my four power tips:
Unhook yourself emotionally
Step outside of your story and the if/then scenarios you so want to create
Find common ground
Ask for help with developing solution strategies
Want some one on one advice on the specifics of your situation? Thursday Apr 15, 2021

You're really good at what you do, but that's not the same thing as loving it. You probably aren't loving how stagnant your raise and promotion trajectories have become either.

Understand why that pigeonhole is a dangerous, not a safe place to stay
Take steps to align yourself for where you really want to go
