How you prioritize the events in your day determines which parts of your career develop and which ones atrophy.
- Always begin your day by directing it with a clear intention. Then move into communication and high concentration tasks so they get done and don't drain your energy.
- Make time for networking and professional development. These activities are your launch pad to the people and skill sets needed to move you towards your dream career.
- Take lunch and breaks to rest and recharge. Remember that rest comes in many forms from breathing exercises to creative or social stimulation.
- Interactive work and meetings are most ideally scheduled for after lunch, to boost energy at the point in the day it's most likely to lull.
- Even if your daily circuit is interrupted by other meetings or events, honor the fact that each of these items still requires attention. Always make time for the high priority career advancing activities.
