Rather than cloaking anger in shame and blame, anger management expert James Clemmons shares strategies to unhook the fight or flight response, unpack what's really going on, and focus on what you can control.
- Hear the entire 60 minute interview with James here.
- Focus on what you can control - you.
- Avoid situations that you know lead to you feeling angry.
- Take time to decompress and do things that make you feel good.
- Pay attention to how anger feels in your body. When you can recognize the signs of early onset, you can take steps to turn off the anger response sooner.
- Be cautious of seeing a situation in "absolutes." Notice when you use triggered language like always, never, should, or must.
Stay Inspired,
Angela
